The worldwide phenomenon is coming to Quebec. The show Notre-Dame De Paris at the Grand-Théâtre de Québec in August 2018 as it will be on for several displays.
Come celebrate the 20th anniversary of a Quebec jewel that stood out on the international stage during the show Notre-Dame De Paris at the Grand Théâtre de Québec in August 2018. The piece, written by the great Quebec producer Luc Plamondon and set to music by Richard Cocciante, is the first adaptation as a musical from the novel of legendary French author Victor Hugo, after some opera and shows of lesser scale created since the middle of the 19th century. The original production included several well-known artists such as Hélène Ségara, Garou, Daniel Lavoie, Bruno Pelletier, and Luck Merville, to whom will be added the names of France D’amours, Mario Pelchat and Sylvain Cossette for the subsequent productions presented in France and Quebec between 1998 and 2001. The masterpiece will later be performed in more than 20 countries around the world and translated into 9 different languages.
The version of Plamondon and Cocciante gave us mega-hits such as Belle, originally interpreted by Garou, and Le Temps des Cathédrales which launched the career in France of its interpreter, Bruno Pelletier, to new heights. The full version of the show is recorded during one of the performances at the Palais des Congrès in Paris in 1998 and goes out to record stores the same year.

The show Notre-Dame De Paris it is mainly the story of the beautiful Esmeralda, a gypsy of unbounded beauty who dances in the bad neighborhoods of the French capital, and of Quasimodo, the carillonneur for Notre-Dame de Paris’ cathedral with an unattractive physique, who live a one-way love in the Paris at the end of the 15th century. The plot also involves Notre-Dame de Paris’s Archdeacon Claude Frollo, adoptive father of Quasimodo who also falls under the spell of beautiful Esmeralda, whose heart belongs to Phoebus de Châteaupers, a captain of the guard who is engaged to Fleur-De -Lys and who sees in Esmeralda only as a pretty dancer, along Esmeralda’s mother, nicknamed Paquette or Chantefleurie, who voluntarily lives imprisoned in “Le Trou a Rats” (The Rat hole) since her daughter was kidnapped at the age of 1, who also mingles with this tragedy. It is between these stories of impossible loves and the misfortunes that ensue that plays the drama inspired by the novel of Victor Hugo, to which we also oww the politico-drama that has also been adapted for the stage several times, Les Misérables.
For this series of shows, it will be the beautiful Lebanese singer Hiba Tawaji, semi-finalist of the popular French show The Voice, whom will return in the lead-role of Esmeralda. She will be accompanied on stage by Angelo Del Vecchio (Quasimodo), the young Québec sensation winner of the first version of Quebec’s version of The Voice Valérie Carpentier (Fleur-De-Lys) and singer Daniel Lavoie (Frollo).
