A second headliner has now been announced: the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be at the Quebec City Summer Festival Saturday, July 16, 2016! It is enormous!
The Californian Rock band led by bassist Flea and singer Anthony Kiedis is currently completing a new album which is due out in the next few less. This will be their 11th album to come out in more than 30-year career. It is plausible that the festgoers will be enjoying their greatest hits but also some of their newly composed pieces!
For now, no other dates in Quebec or even Canada is specified in the calendar of fifteen dates as posted on the RHCP official website. It also indicates that they will be touring the world’s festivals in America, Europe and even as far away as Japan in Asia including Fuji Rock Festival in Yuzawa-cho, just after Quebec.
Fun Fact: did you know that the song Dani California is the theme song for Death Note, this live-action movie which is an adaptation of the popular animated series and manga of the same name? Although many have called this a surprising choice, this gave a great visibility to the group in the huge Japanese market and have raised their popularity. The last visit of the band in Quebec City dates back to October 1, 2006 at the Pepsi Coliseum as part of their “Stadium Arcadium Tour”. Since then, fans of Quebec City kept demanding the return of the group. After 10 years of waiting, we can say that expectations will at the highest point!
The best of Californian Rock will then resonate in Quebec City on the evening of July 16, 2016 with the presence of the Red Hot Chili Peppers on the big stage of the Plains of Abraham.
