The new Quebec City Hockey Arena, Videotron Centre, offers the best artists and events in Eastern Canada!
Opened in great pomp in the fall of 2015, the Quebec City Videotron Centre is a modern, multifunctional hockey arena that allows Quebec City to attract the world’s greatest artists, who were reluctant to play in the dilapidated Colisée de Québec, and with good reasons. It is now in a brand new building, equipped with state-of-the-art equipments, that residents of eastern Canada can watch the Remparts games, the Quebec Junior Hockey League team, as well as local and international superstars.
Since its opening, which was celebrated by Quebec City residents’ darling group, Metallica, with a concert duo to highlight the transition between the old coliseum and the new arena, several artists have grazed the stage of this scene. Quebec stars such as Céline Dion, Simple Plan and Louis-Jean Cormier, but also a host of artists from around the world such as Madonna, Muse, Rihanna, Brian Adams and many others, have already performed their act within these walls.
The year 2017 promises to be very busy with several big names already announced, such as The Lumineers, Green Day, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Bruno Mars and Roger Waters, to name just a few. Persistent rumors continue to fuel discussions, such as the arrival of Avenged Sevenfold, who have just announced a tour in collaboration with Cirque du Soleil. On the sporting side, the Quebec City Remparts are holding the fort with a season beyond expectations, and the match between the CHL’s most promising prospect for the next NHL draft promises to be very entertaining, with several young talents. At least one boxing gala will also be held in 2017, with the confrontation between Lucian Bute and Eleider Alvarez. Of course, the biggest minor hockey tournament in the world, the Quebec Pee-Wee International Hockey Tournament is now presented in this huge arena, for the pleasure of both young players and spectators.
A shuttle service is offered by the Capitale Transportation Network to the Vidéotron Center during the show night. The complete program can be found on the RTC website and is adjusted daily!
