The lineup of the Quebec City Summer Festival was partly unveiled, and here is a recap of the biggest names you will have the chance to see live

The management of the Quebec City’s Summer Festival has just unveiled some of its programming, 50 groups in 50 minutes to mark the 50th edition of the event, and several big names are there, as might be expected. Here is a glimpse of the biggest names that will perform on the Bell Scene of the Plains of Abraham and Molson Dry of the Parc de la Francophonie.

 

Muse: July 16 on the Bell stage of the Plains of Abraham

Already announced more than a month ago, Muse at the Quebec City Summer Festival is guaranteed to be a closing show worthy of the biggest festivals of the planet as only they are able. After having made the Videotron Center vibrate during the evenings in January 2016 with their most recent Drones tour, they come back with an outdoor version that is likely to make a big difference, based on their reputation as masters of visual effects.

 

Metallica: July 14 on the Bell stage of the Plains of Abraham

The Quebec City area’s favorite band, Metallica , will be at the Quebec City Summer Festival on the Plains of Abraham stage, where they broke the attendance record on their first visit ever to the Summer Festival in 2011. Always happy to perform in front of the Quebec’s crowd, which heart is conquered in advance, be sure that they will deliver a performance worthy of the love they will receive from fans!

 

Pink: July 8, Bell Scene of the Plains of Abraham.

We were waiting for her, here she is! The rocker Pink (link to blog) will be at the Quebec City Summer Festival for the 50th edition. In addition to having a near perfect control of her powerful voice, her performances are often interspersed with acrobatics and visual effects that add to the wonder of all. Kendrick Lamar: Date to come, Bell Scene of the Plains of Abraham

We were waiting for Eminem, it’s finally Kendrick Lamar who will be at the Quebec City Summer Festival to make lovers of rap go for the 50th anniversary of the festival. A “consolation price” more than acceptable, when we think that the young prodigy native of Compton in California is considered the biggest rapper of his generation!

 

Backstreet Boys: Date to come, Bell Scene of the Plains of Abraham

The Boys band reborn after several years of separations, and the Backstreet Boys will be at the Québec City Summer Festival this year. Having a fan base always so passionate, the quintet will certainly be one of the most popular shows of the year!

The young sensation of the EDM movement from Australia Flume  will take part in the Quebec City Summer Festival, to the delight of its many followers. Offering a sound more hip hop than other artists of the genre, it nevertheless retains the rhythms specific to the electronic style and is surely “groovy” enough to have your behind moving right and left.

 

Dj Shadow: Date to come, scene to be determined

The sampler master Dj Shadow  is on display at the Québec City Summer Festival. Although the summer festival management has not yet revealed all the details of the programming, it is expected that the artist will be part of the electronic evening, which is held every year since 2012.

 

Lady Antebellum: Date to come, scene to be determined

The group Lady Antebellum will be performing at the Quebec City Summer Festival, and although the information is not yet confirmed by the festival management, they will bet that this show will be part of the evening to country music. After splitting up several years ago following tensions between singer Boom Desjardins and bassist Dany Bédard, the group originally from Val d’Or La chicane  will be at the Quebec City Summer Festival. Gathered since last summer, La chicane will not fail to remind us why they were one of the most popular groups in the province before taking this “pause” that will last almost a decade.

 

Phantogram: Date to come, scene to be determined

The electro-rock band Phantogram  will be playing at the Quebec City Summer Festival for its 50th edition with their unique sound and catchy melodies. Beginning as Charlie Everywhere in the mid-2000s, the duo offers a wide range of musical, sometimes melancholic, sometimes more rhythmic, which promises an evening full of ear-pleasing surprises.
