The Grand Theater of Quebec offers many kinds of shows ranging from theater pieces to ballet in Quebec.
This project is due to former Quebec premier Jean Lesage’s proposal to the Prime Minister of Canada in 1963 to pool their resources together in order to build the monument commemorating the Centennial anniversary of the Canadian Confederation in Quebec City.
The Grand Theater of Quebec has welcomed more than 11 million spectators since its creation.
Every year, about 400,000 people attend nearly 150 different shows, some 400 performances by countless celebrities from music, theater, variety, dance and film. The Theatre is also associated with several arts organizations in the National Capital such as the Théâtre du Trident, the Quebec Symphony Orchestra (OSQ), the Quebec Opera and Les Grands Explorateurs. The administration is also at the origin of citizen projects such as the Urban Vegetable Garden or the Public Piano, the latter being located very close to our establishment on the Saint-Roch church’s forecourt.
