Corteo, an Italian word that translates as a procession in French, is made up of 51 circus acrobats and circus artisans who celebrate the life and after-life of a great clown, Mauro. A little strange, Mauro himself attends the procession organized in his honor and also celebrates, with his acrobatic friends, his own delusions and poetic impulse. All this takes the form of several acts that include numbers of trampolines, high-flying, balancing and other circus and acrobatics features that will surely captivate imagination of young and old, as only the designers and craftsmen of Cirque du Soleil can.
In order to refine the passage from the marquee to the arenas, it was the Videotron Center’s ancestor, the Colisée de Québec that was chosen by the conceptor of the largest circus troupe in the world for rehearsal. For a few months now, the obsolete building has welcomed more than 120 artisans and technicians to transform the show so that it is perfectly adapted to the requirements of the various arenas where it will be presented during the next year, as it is the case with most shows of the company that was born in Baie-Saint-Paul in the mid-80s.
