The virtuoso Carlos Santana guitar will perform at the Videotron Centre April 18 as part of his Luminosity Tour. Viva Carlos Santana!

Through a series of shows at the legendary House of Blues at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Carlos Santana will be performing at the Videotron Centre and in Montreal at the Bell Centre the next day. The last time the prodigy has visited Quebec City was during the Quebec City Summer Festival in July 2010. He then ignited the crowd with his so special Latin Rock. His visit to Quebec City was just days after asking his current wife – Cindy Blackman – in marriage during a show in Illinois. Percussionist for the group, Carlos Santana then had made his request at the end of a solo performance of her beautiful. Demand was so soon accepted and sealed with a kiss under the eyes spectators.

Cindy Blackman Santana has also collaborated on the latest album of Carlos Santana, Corazon, and is a major presence in the Luminosity tour. Released in May 2014, Corazon is the first fully Spanish album. For this 22nd album, Santana teamed with the biggest names in Latin music to offer us wonderful collaborations with none other than Miguel, Gloria Estefan, Ziggy Marley and Pitbull. Corazon was certified double platinum in the United States.

In more than forty year career, the sound of Carlos Santana is one of the most recognized musical signatures worldwide. It only takes a few notes to recognize him of all. This revolutionary artist who merged the Afro-Latin rhythms blues rock was found at the legendary Woodstock festival in 1969 where he offered one of the best festival performances, in front of 500,000 festival-goers, alongside sacred like Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Joan Baez, The Who, Jefferson Airplane and Joe Cocker to name only a few. Unknown before the festival, he picked later his first contract with the Columbia and since then continues to accumulate successes.

In career, Santana has sold over 100 million albums worldwide and won 10 won Grammy Awards, including a record of nine awards for a single album, Supernatural, released in 1999. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. He is recognized as one of the best known contemporary guitarists in the world. His daughter, Stella Santana, now follows in the footsteps of his father and has recently started a career in music.
