It is getting confirmed more and more precisely: Country music will again be in the spotlight this summer with Brad Paisley headlining the Quebec City Summer Festival.
No date has been confirmed yet and the festival organization has not confirmed it, but, according to what can be read in the newspapers, “reliable sources” would ensure the passage of the American star of Country music on the Plains of Abraham this summer.
With the success of the Keith Urban concert last summer, the FEQ organizers had not hidden their intentions to propose again Country music artists, so with the release of the programming of two important festival music that take place every summer and often sharing the same artists as the Quebec City summer Festival: RBC Bluesfests in Ottawa and the Osheaga Festival in Montreal, the presence of Brad Paisley in Ottawa on July 13, made it more than plausible to see him in Quebec City in the same period.
Moreover, it would not be surprising to see this year a second Country night at the FEQ. With its presence at the Ottawa Bluesfest July 14, and an active tour of the United States throughout the summer including other outdoor shows, Sam Hunt could easily lead to the Quebec Summer Festival this year. Sam Hunt has a Country-Pop style that makes you associate it to the “New Country” Movement. His single “take your time” turns much on Quebec radios. More reason to think that the organizers of the summer festival could negotiate with the handsome American!
The last visit of Paisley in Quebec was in November 2014 at the Bell Centre in Montreal. The singer, songwriter and guitarist of 43 years is a superstar of the Country scene in the US. Since the beginning of his career in 1999, more than 12 million copies of his 10 albums have been sold and often figured in first place in the ranking of Country sales in the United States.
