A rising star in boxing’s heavy weight division, Simon Kean, will headline the next Boxing Gala at the Videotron Centre in Quebec City on April 7, 2018.
On April 7, 2018, one of the biggest boxing promoters in the world, Eye of Tiger Management, will present its first boxing gala at the Videotron Centre in Quebec City with headliner Simon Kean, rising star of the heavy weight division. With a record of 13 victories in as many fights, including 12 per stoppage before the limit, Kean will put his perfect record on the line against a boxer from Mexico, Ignacio Esparza, who has only 2 defeats in 23 professional fights. Both boxers will try to win the IBO (International Boxing Organization) Intercontinental title which is currently in the hands of Kean since his victory against the Brazilian Marcelo Luiz Nascimento on June 2017 in a gala presented the Olympia of Montreal.
This fight will be the 10th in 2 years for the slugger from the team of Camille Estephan, he who climbs rapidly up the ranks of his division and is only a few victories away from forcing the hand of more prestigious organizations like the IBF to pay attention to him. During his last encounter, he had passed the KO in the eighth bout to the American Alexis Santos in a fight presented in the small municipality of Shawinigan. This will be the first time in his career that Kean will be part of the final in a gala presented in an amphitheater as big as the Quebec’s Videotron Centre, he had only presence in sub-card gala featuring, among others, David Lemieux and Steven Butler. Following his clash with Esparza, Simon Kean should face Adam Braidwood next June, if he wins his duel of April 7, of course.
Being aware that the evening will not be a success without the presence of other local stars, Eye of the Tiger Management plans to give the chance to several of their young protégés from the Quebec City region to participate in this major gala, such as Clovis Drolet and Vincent Thibault.
