The year began in force on the Quebec City music scene with the concert of metal band Avenged Sevenfold. Fortunately, the spectators present at this event got their money’s worth, because the band had to cancel its second performance of the year which was planned as part of the Quebec City Summer because of a serious illness that afflicted the singer.
The legendary guitarist from Mexico came about with his inspiring pop-rock and all his greatest classics like Maria Maria and Black Magic Woman. The thousands of spectators present were treated to many guitar solos which made the reputation of the artist, who passed mastering his instrument very well.
Sir Rod Stewart walked the boards of the Center Videotron this spring to perform his greatest hits like Da Ya Think I’m Sexy and Tonight’s The Night. Although it is now clear that his 73 years were are taking a toll on his voice, the more the show progressed the more it felt rejuvenated.
The Canadian Country Queen has come to remind us that she is still able to make cowvoys and cowgirls to dance. With an impressive scene production, the singer from Windsor, Ontario, impressed the more than 13,000 fans who attended. We are therefore very happy that she decided to unretire to offer us these unforgettable moments.
We go from country music to rap, with the passage of the French’s Rap scene leading band I.A.M., whom were celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of their cult album L’École du micro d’argent. The members of the band gave us all the pieces from the album, including one of the greatest hits in the history of rap, French or English, Nés Sous La Même Étoile.
The famous bearded men with sunglasses gave us a performance that lived up to expectations on the eve of their 50th anniversary. Presented in an intimate format, some 6,000 spectators had the chance to see the rock legends in close and personal and hear their greatest hits like Sharp Dressed Man and Gimme All Your Lovin’.
In front of a packed house, the living legend and founding member of the band that contributed to bring Rock and Roll its mainstream status, The Beatles, Sir Paul McCartney gave us a musical experience that transcends ages. Whether it’s the greatest hits of the “Fab Four” or his collaboration with the Wings band, each song gets you on a trip through ages all the way to the early 60’s.
Well then, another music star from Great Britain, Sir Elton John, passed through Quebec to present us his farewell tour titled Farewell Yellow Brick Road. His last visit to Quebec City ended with a monster ovation that apparently touched the artist, who had a trembling voice when he said, in French moreover, to more than 17,000 fans present: ” I will never forget you “. Just writing these lines gives me chills.
From a legend that ends his career to a star that is at the peak period of his career. It was armed with his new album Man of the Woods that Justin Timberlake landed in Quebec City for the very first time. And as they say, things got wild! Driven by the intoxicating rhythms and choreographed quarter-turn, the crowd responded very well to the energy displayed on stage by former Boys Band N’sync member.
One evening, in fact a full night of electronic music awaited the many fans of the genre during the E.W. Attraktion event. On the menu, 3 scenes installed in different rooms of the Videotron Center with local DJs and internationally renowned ones in an unusual format that ran until the wee hours of the morning.
The year began with heavy rock and ended with heavy rock. Three Days Grace offered an electric performance that met the expectations of thousands of fans by interpreting their successes as Pain, Animal I Have Become and I Hate Everything About You.
