races to try this summer in Quebec City

Did you know that there are themed races in Quebec City? Well yes! Whether it's a distance race, obstacle, in the mud or even fleeing hordes of zombies, there is certainly one of the races below that will pique your curiosity!

Here is a list of 9 races to try this summer in Quebec City.

Color Me Rad (date to be confirmed, May 2019)

Popular with each passing edition, Color Me Rad Quebec is one fun and colourful run. This is more of a running 5K path than walking, however it is possible for people who want to. With each KM you run, a new color will be added to your clothing so don’t dodge if you want to be as colourful as a unicorn at the end!

Here’s my advice: buy a white t-shirt and shorts! The colors stick easily on any white clothing for maximum effect 😉

Défi Entreprises Québec (June 9, 2019)

Defi Entreprise Quebec is an awesome activity to do with your coworkers and boss. Register your company and do some team building, as you can choose between a 5 km or 10 km walk, a 5 km or 10 km run,  a 5 km or 10 km a mix of walk and run, zumba and a 5km BootCamp Outdoor Cardio.

There is no excuse to NOT come, since there are many choices available no matter what type of training you do. Have fun and enjoy the event!

Color Vibe 5K (date to be confirmed , September 2018)

Color vibe 5K Quebec is very similar to one of the previous race I talked about (Color Me Rad). Personally I prefer BY FAR Color Vibe for the simple fact that its in the wilderness (tress, dirt, rocks, etc) instead of just on asphalt, which is harder on the knees. Taking place at the bottom of Mont-Sainte-Anne, run or walk your 5 km race and get colourful along the way!

Fun fact : you can purchase additional color packets if you really want to look like a rainbow before the race even begins!

XMAN Race Québec (September 21, 2019)

XMAN Race Quebec is not for the faint of heart. A challenging race that is about 7 km long, done in the mountains and offers no less than 40 obstacles along the way. Get your running shoes ready, this is NOT going to be easy but it will be tons of fun! Although challenging, you can complete this race at your own pace, run, walk take all the time you need to complete it and wear your badge of honor with pride!

There is a path made for younger kids XKIDS (kids aged between 4 and 12 years old) so come with the hole family and challenge yourselves with the XMAN Race.

Total Zombie Québec (October 19, 2019)

I saved the best for last (because I am a fan of zombies and horror movies!) Total Zombie is unique to say the least since it’s themed (zombie duh!), you can do your race during the day or the night, beautiful décor and sound effects, and during your 5 km race, you get chased by zombies! How cool is that huh!?

Don’t like zombies? No worries, brings a few friends along, you can always sacrifice them if you are scared :p
