We do not know yet who will perform on the stage of Place d’Youville but several names have already been announced for the galas presented at the Grand Théâtre de Québec

 

Traces Exhibition at the Museum of the Plains of Abraham.

 

With more than 100 artefacts from the time of colonization in New France, the Traces exhibition provides an overview of civilian and military life in the colony of Quebec in the 17th century with a free exhibition accessible every day between 9:00 and 17:00.

 

Party of Saint John the Baptist on the Plains of Abraham on June 23rd.

 

Always a very popular event for all the inhabitants of the Belle Province, the party celebrating Quebec’s National Day, or the Saint-Jean Baptiste, proposes every year a panoply of Québécois artists who perform on the Plains of Abraham during a free concert on June 23rd. Why June 23rd when the National day is actually on the 24th? To take advantage of the national holiday to recover!

 

Exhibition Mission in New France to the Museum of the Jesuits of Sillery.
Based on the work of the archaeologist Anja Herzog, the exhibition Mission in New France shows you the first encounters between two opposite worlds; the modernity of the European explorers and the thousand-year-old traditions of the inhabitants of the American continent, which will be called Amerindians. The exhibition is open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm until June 4, and from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm until October 1, 2017, bringing together more than 200 objects from various archaeological excavations.

 

Quebec City Summer Festival – Hydro-Québec Scene at Place d’Youville.

 

In addition to offering international artists for 10 days on the 2 main stages, the Quebec City Summer Festival  offers free outdoor concerts on the stage at Place d’Youville. This year, you will be able to watch Bernard Adamus, Michel Louvain, Yann Perreau and others perform every night between 6 and 16 July.

 

Rendez-Vous 2017: The Tall Ships at the Old Port of Québec.

 

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation, the City of Québec and the Rendez-vous Naval de Québec offer the longest stop in the transatlantic tall ships regatta that will attract more than 40 of these giants of the seas in the waters of Quebec’s Old Port. Pyrotechnic shows, ships’ visits and a parade will be scheduled for Rendez-vous 2017 to be held from 18 to 23 July 2017.

 

Crépuscule at the Agora of the Old Port of Quebec.

 

Crepuscule, an acrobatics show from the circus troupe Flip Fabrique returns to the Agora de Québec for a third year with its free performances. You will be able to admire the prowess of these high-flying artists every day from Tuesday to Saturday from August 1 until September 3, 2017.

 

Montréal-Québec Cycling Grand Prix.

 

The Union Cycliste International (UCI) returns in 2017 with a stage of its WorldTour event in Quebec City on September 8th, on the course that crosses the streets of Old Quebec and the Plains of Abraham. Come and encourage the dozens of high-level cyclists who will compete for victory on this majestic course.

 

Fine arts, Quebec City’s arts and crafts fair at Espace 400ème.

 

This will be the 37th edition of this event which brings together several artisans from all over the province who come to exhibit and sell the fruit of their hard work. Presented from August 1st to 13th at Espace 400ième of the Old Port of Québec, Plein Art is a must-see place to admire the talent of people who are passionate about the design of unique handmade pieces.

 

Visit of the Parliament of Québec.

 

It is possible to visit the Parliament Building of Québec from Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 16:15 until June 23, 2017, except holidays and every day from June 24 to the first Monday of September. Reservations are required and security measures must be foreseen before entering the meanders of the Quebec power.
